The population in Japan is about 122 million people (12th largest in the world), however, due to a number of factors and a low fertility rate (1.33) Japans population has been decreasing over the last decade.
Religions: 68% Buddhism; 24% Ethnic religions; 5.5% Non-Religious; 2.2% Christianity; 0.2% Islam. However, in such a conformist culture, the majority follow in the footsteps of Buddhist and Shintoist belief systems. In reality, religious loyalties in Japan could be described as 80% Shinto, 68% Buddhist, and 24% New Religion! (Joshua Project)
